Hay fever is an allergy. Actually, it is the most common form of allergy, affecting as many as one fifth of the population. It is triggered by sensitivity to plant pollens or fungal spores. Symptoms may include itchy eyes, conjunctivitis, runny nose, sneezing, stuffiness, blocked sinuses and headache. Also, many sufferers of hay fever may also have to contend with other allergies.

So what causes hay fever and other allergies? What makes your body so sensitive to various substances? And what can you do to ease symptoms? Well, in this article we will address these questions.

Causes of Allergy
When your immune system decides that a particular substance – such as tree pollen, dander from a cat, dust on a shelf, etc. – is an enemy, then that substance becomes an allergen. When you come into contact with that substance, or allergen, then you body creates antibodies, which in turn send signals to the immune system to disarm and destroy the intruder. Dr Jeremy Kaslow, an associate professor of medicine at the University of California, Irvine, USA and an allergy specialist at Garden Grove, California, USA explains that your immune system, “fights these foreign substances just as it would bacteria or viruses.”

To accomplish this, your immune system must release various biochemicals such leukotrienes and histamine.  Dr Kaslow goes on to explain, “Histamine plays an important role in certain types of allergic reactions… It causes small blood cells to widen and become more permeable to fluid, allowing fluid to pass from the bloodstream into surrounding tissues, causing nasal congestion, runny eyes and nose and sometimes hives.”

Finding Relief
Antihistamine preparations are readily available from your local pharmacist or drug store. However, some doctors feel that these do more harm than good. For example Dr Jacqueline Krohn, a physician in New Mexico states, “Sensitivity to allergens may be concealed by taking antihistamine medications.”

If you are concerned that alternative natural remedies won’t work as well as medications then don’t be. We believe that they are a better, more effective remedy than drugs. And Mark Stengler, N.D., a naturopathic physician in San Diego agrees stating, “I believe that natural remedies are strong enough that you won’t have to take drugs – you’ll get all the relief you need.”

Certainly, by turning to natural remedies you will not get any of the side effects that you might from medications.

With this in mind, we would like to recommend a few nutritional supplements from the Neways product range that we have found to be effective in providing the relief you need.

Authentic Hawaiian Noni Juice
Hawaiian Noni Juice: Studies have shown that Hawaiian Noni juice not only has good curative properties, it also works in tandem with your immune system to help reduce sensitivities. Additionally, it is good pain reliever – as good as aspirin but without the side effects. To add to these benefits, Hawaiian Noni Juice has been found to assist the body in detoxifying.

The Hawaiian Noni Juice from Neways is a purely, natural product with no artificial additives or preservatives. It is produced using whole Noni fruit. It is sweetened with honey, and wild plums are used to enhance flavour. It is then bottled using a patented “hot-seal” process to keep the product fresh and to lock in the flavour.

Maximol Solutions: Several Neways customers have reported receiving relief from hay fever and other inhalant allergies after using Maximol Solutions. This liquid supplement provides antioxidants, nutrients and trace minerals that are essential in supporting your immune system.

Maximol Solutions. is available in two varieties: Vegan-Friendly or Sensitive (for those with sensitive stomachs). Also available is
Maximol Classic, which is suitable for diabetics, and
Junior Max - for kids.

Para-Free:
Designed to support the digestive system, Para-Free contains, amongst other herbs, garlic. Garlic has been shown to be very effective in providing relief for hay fever sufferers, and may also support vitamin C, boosting its effectiveness.

Revenol:
This is Neways’ antioxidant formula. Antioxidants are essential for eliminating free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can injure your body’s healthy molecules by stealing electrons to balance themselves.

Dr Kaslow explains that allergic reactions can cause the production of free radicals and can make you more prone to histamine release.

Revenol contains healthy amounts of vitamins C and E, as well as beta-carotene. It is particularly high in vitamin C, containing over 140% of your recommended daily amount. Vitamin C has been found to be particularly good for sufferers of inhalant allergies, such as hay fever.

We hope you have found our suggestions of use and wish you every success in gaining safe and effective relief from the symptoms of hay fever and other allergies.
